Entrance to universities worldwide

The University Guidance Counsellor assists pupils with the university application process and is available to meet with parents and pupils to explain the process. We can advise on application deadlines, admission requirements and admissions testing. Our staff provide letters of recommendation, references, grade predictions and academic transcripts to support the application process.
The University Guidance Counsellor works in conjunction with the Academic Team, thereby ensuring that pupils’ and parents’ aspirations for university destinations are understood and appropriate by providing regular guidance.
Many pupils at St. George’s International School progress to excellent universities. Our University Guidance Counsellor has formed personal contacts with many of the world’s leading universities, allowing for direct communication and rapid information exchange, which greatly assists the process of researching opportunities.
We provide information on a wide range of universities and are regularly visited by university representatives who give presentations to our pupils. Pupils have numerous opportunities to meet with admissions representatives and learn more about the programmes of study, admission requirements, and facilities that are available at universities around the world.
St. George’s International School holds an on-campus Annual University Fair, which hosts representatives from over 60 universities across the globe, giving our pupils and their parents the perfect platform to explore opportunities for future study.

Remaining in Switzerland for University Study

Switzerland is a popular destination of choice for university. On average, around 30% of our pupils apply to one of the top Swiss universities to continue their studies.
The Academic Team work closely with the University Counsellor to advise pupils on subject choices and specific admission requirements for entry into Universities in Switzerland and beyond.
The University Counsellor arranges for pupils who are planning to stay in Switzerland for tertiary education to attend information days at Swiss Universities, including École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Université de Lausanne (UNIL) and École Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL).
In addition to assistance with the application process, the St. George’s Modern Foreign Languages Department assists pupils with preparation for language proficiency examinations to meet admission requirements, where necessary.

Securing a place at a leading university

Despite fierce competition at the world’s best colleges, one in three Inspired pupils continues their education at world-renowned Russell Group and Ivy League schools. Inspired pupils are supported throughout their senior school education by in-school University and Careers Counsellors, who uniquely understand the local universities, qualification requirements and individual pupils.

Given how competitive entry into the top universities is becoming, Inspired has introduced partnerships that will give pupils an even better chance of winning that coveted place at the leading university of their choice.

Inspired is proud to partner exclusively with renowned leaders in U.S. and U.K. university admission counselling, Arete Education and The Classroom Door, with preferential rates for all Inspired pupils.

Arete Educational Consulting: Ignite the Future

Arete Educational Consulting is a full-service tutoring and educational consulting company. Their goal is to help pupils of all ages fulfil their dreams – from helping pupils raise their SAT score by 300 points, to gaining admission to an Ivy League university. The support enables pupils to build long-term relationships with learning that will help them maintain and expand their newfound academic prowess in their future studies.

Getting into a top U.S. or U.K university is no easy feat; Inspired’s partnership with Arete, who offers customised packages tailored to each pupil’s strengths, makes the process easier. Pupils using Arete are allocated a dedicated counsellor, several years prior to the application process, to advise on summer jobs, extracurricular participation, and anything else that, if prepared well in advance, will ensure pupils have the best chance of standing out in such a competitive field.

Arete coaches are committed to inspiring academic excellence and building confidence in their pupils. They will identify - and help remove - any roadblocks preventing learners from achieving the university placement of their dreams.

In addition to university counselling, Arete offers tuition in languages, math, sciences, humanities, study skills and provides coaching on school entrance and college admissions exams, including the SAT.
