Join the St. George's family

St. George’s has over a 90-year tradition of providing a well-rounded preparatory education for pupils from pre-foundation to year 13. A community of 400 pupils and 100 staff members from more than 60 countries call St. George’s home, including some 100 pupils who board at the school. At St. George’s, we are proud of our outstanding academic results and reputation, not just here in Switzerland, but throughout the world. Our pupils go on to attend the very best universities around the world.

How to Enrol

We are delighted that you are considering enrolling your children at St. George's, one of the most prestigious private schools in Switzerland.

Step 1: Enquiry

Submit an Enquiry Form. Once submitted, you will then be directed to create an account in our Admissions Portal, where you can share additional details about your child.

Step 2: Visit

After the enquiry is completed, we invite each prospective pupil and their family to visit the school for a tour, and to meet with the Principal and the Admissions Team. During the visit, the pupil and their family will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about St. George’s International School. We understand that it is not always possible for a family relocating from abroad to visit the school in-person. In such cases, an online meeting can be arranged.

Step 3: Application, Testing and Interview

Following a visit to the school (or virtual meeting), you will be invited to submit a formal application.

The following documents are required as part of the application:

  • Copy of passport or ID
  • Copy of Swiss Residence Permit (for non-Swiss Nationals applying as a day pupil)
  • Previous two years of academic records in English, if you are seeking admissions for a child in Year 1 or higher
  • Immunisation records
  • Passport photograph

Don't forget to kindly ask one of your child's current teachers to fill out the Teacher Recommendation Form.

For Applications for Years 6 – 13

Once the application has been completed and documentation verified, the pupil will be invited to sit the English Placement Test and Cognitive Ability Test (CAT). This is usually completed online. Please note alternative arrangements may be offered at the discretion of school leadership.

Following completion of the entrance tests, candidates will join an interview with the relevant Head of School. This is a great chance for us to get to know your child better and for them to get to know us too.

Step 4: Final Decision

The admissions committee reviews all applications once they are completed and a decision is made. When your child is offered a place at St. George’s International School, you will receive:

  • An acceptance letter
  • An enrolment agreement
  • An invoice for the entrance fee
